What happens if I die without a will?

What happens to my property if I die without a Will?

If you die without a Will in Indiana, Indiana determines who your heirs will be and what percentage of your estate that they will inherit.  Your assets will likely be divided between your spouse, children, and/or parents which may not be how you would choose to distribute them.  Further, if you are unmarried without children or parents, your assets pass to your next closest relatives.  If no relatives can be located to inherit yours assets, Indiana receives your assets.

Steven Knecht helps clients plan for the management and distribution of their assets through wills and trusts.  With 33+ years of experience, he is familiar with the legal wording creating a will or trust and can ensure it is correctly implemented in the event of your death.  He can work with you and your family to create a legal document that works the way you want it to which may not occur with a document obtained through on-line resources.  For more information concerning your estate and trust needs, call Steven Knecht for a personal consultation.
